The Word "Kesarwani" means Saffron Traders and Cultivators ( 'kesar' meaning Saffron, whereas 'wani' is a popular Kashmiri Vaishya Caste). These People were forced to leave the Kashmir Valley in the 12th Century because of forced Conversions and Persecutions.
